As a machine operator, it’s important that you have a motivated, flexible attitude! Meeting deadlines is no problem for you, and you always strive for the highest quality. You’re also not afraid of hard work, can adapt quickly, and have a strong sense of responsibility. You’ll start in a day shift, but after the training period, you’re fine with working in shifts!

• You have completed an MBO level 2 education;
• You hold a forklift certificate (or are willing to getone quickly).

Hi! You greet your colleagues and start up the ovens so you can get to work! You check the production schedule to see what has to happen today. Your colleague will also hand the work over to you.

As a machine operator, you’re in charge of operating the perlite ovens. These ovens make potting soil lighter and airier, which promotes better growth and drainage. You program the machines and adjust them as needed. Then lunch! Time to enjoy a sandwich with your colleagues in the cafeteria!

After lunch, you get back to work and keep a close eye on the production process. You make adjustments as needed to ensure the best quality. Uh-oh! A minor issue? You check what's wrong and deal with the small repair yourself. Can we fix it? Absolutely!!

After your shift it's time for a handover with you colleague and then you head home!

During your training period, you’ll work from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. After training, you’ll switch to a 3-shift schedule: 7:00 AM-3:00 PM, 3:00 PM-11:00 PM, and 11:00 PM-7:00 AM, with shift allowances included! The training period lasts about a month, but it may take a bit longer before you start working in shifts.
